The Car
About The RS 3 Saloon
The saloon is the one people order when they want the RS 3 to look like a proper performance car rather than a hot hatch. Longer, lower-looking, with a boot lid instead of a tailgate and, on this one, a fixed rear wing rather than the standard lip spoiler.
Mechanically it is identical to the Sportback: the 2.5-litre five-cylinder turbo, 400PS, quattro with the torque-splitter rear axle, and that offbeat warble no other engine makes.
Ours is finished in Nardo grey over black RS honeycomb-quilted sports seats, with the black styling pack, gloss-black alloys and red calipers. Matrix LED headlights and the carbon-look interior trim.
It is valeted, safety-checked and fuelled before every handover, and photographed at collection and return. Two RS 3s on the fleet now — the black Sportback and this grey saloon.
